D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin Claws Back $1 Million in USAID Overbilling Case

Stax Inc. agreed to pay $1 million to resolve allegations of overbilling USAID for salary reimbursements in the Sri Lanka@100 project. The USAID Office of the Inspector General discovered Stax inflated employee salary costs, which violated the terms of the cooperative agreement. Following an acquisition, the new company cooperated with the investigation and implemented remedial measures, leading to the settlement.
