Adobe to Acquire Figma for $20 billion: What Does It Mean for Users?

Adobe is spending $20 billion to acquire the collaborative design platform Figma, the companies announced Thursday. The deal, comprised of approximately half cash and half stock, is expected to close in 2023. While Adobe is a behemoth in the design world, Figma over the past 10 years pioneered product design on the web. Along the way, it amassed millions of users, including a loyal student following, as Adobe noted.
