Pentagon Launches “Project Meridian” to Chart the Future of Warfare

On September 30, the Secretary of War directed Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael to commission Project Meridian, a study of future warfare to be run “through a partner organization.” The memo points to AI, autonomy, directed energy, robotics, and biotechnology as the technologies set to reshape combat.
