Inc. – The Small Business Administration’s flagship contracting program—originally designed to level the playing field for economically and socially disadvantaged entrepreneurs—is now shifting its focus toward defense contractors. The SBA announced in mid-September that it will prioritize small businesses operating within specific defense industries—including ammunition manufacturing, missile and space vehicle manufacturing, and shipbuilding— within its 8(a) business development program.
