Oracle Gets Antitrust Approvals for Proposed Cerner Acquisition

Oracle has received European Commission clearance and other antitrust approvals required for the company’s proposed acquisition of Missouri-based health information technology maker Cerner. Oracle agreed to acquire Cerner for approximately $28.3 billion through an all-cash tender offer. Oracle believes the acquisition will allow it to rapidly modernize Cerner’s  health-records systems and move them to the next-generation Cloud.
