House Panels Launch Probe into Massive Cyberattack that Breached Federal Agencies

The House Homeland Security and Oversight and Reform Committees have announced a joint investigation into the massive breach of SolarWinds products that exposed the networks of multiple federal agencies. Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and Oversight and Reform Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) have informed intelligence officials that their panels will investigate the breach of SolarWinds systems, which victimized the Departments of Commerce, State, Homeland Security, and the Treasury, as well a growing list of other agencies, possibly including the Department of Defense.
